2010 Queen Elizabeth II Gold Bullion Quarter Sovereign

2010 Queen Elizabeth II Gold Bullion Quarter Sovereign Reverse
(VAT Exempt)
22 carat gold uncirculated 2010 Quarter Sovereign from The Royal Mint: one of just 8,985 issued in this year. These tiny coins were first introduced by the UK's national mint in 2009, offering exactly 25% of the gold content of a 'full' Sovereign. This new denomination joined the Sovereign, Half Sovereign, Double Sovereign and Quintuple Sovereign, extending the gold Sovereign family to five members. Offered in limited numbers, the 2010 Quarter Sovereign is available in both proof and uncirculated bullion finishes with these coins being an example of the latter. Quarter Sovereigns weigh in at 1.997 grams and are composed of the same 22-carat crown gold as their larger counterparts. These miniature, pre-owned investment pieces measure 13.50 millimetres from milled edge to milled edge. Designs do vary but this 2010 edition features the classic St George and the dragon motif to the reverse with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley to the obverse, both scaled to the small surface. 2010 Quarter Sovereigns are Capital Gains Tax and VAT free like other gold Sovereigns.
