Like all UK coins issued since late 2022, this collectable VE Day coin features Martin Jennings' definitive coinage portrait of King Charles III, together with an inscription that reads 'CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 50 PENCE · 2025 ·'.
This 2025 Fifty Pence features a design remastered from the 1995 Dove £2 coin, designed by sculptor John Mills. The words 'IN PEACE GOODWILL', attributed to Sir Winston Churchill, are shown above the dove, with the words 'VE DAY 8 MAY 1945' below.
This coin is struck in 8.00 grams of solid .925 sterling silver with a proof finish. Proof coins are designed for collectors and have an appearance that is superior to their circulating counterparts, characterised by mirrored surfaces and plenty of fine detail.
The Royal Mint has authorised the release of just 5,000 coins of this type. Ours are offered encapsulated in the original presentation case, with a numbered certificate of authenticity enclosed.
