Three war medals appear on the reverse of this UK 50p coin, representing individual stories of heroism during World War Two. The design, created by coinage artist Timothy Noad includes the 1939-45 Star, the Defence Medal and the War Medal 1939–1945, representing the first time that these medals have appeared on a British coin. This coin was created in co-operation with the Imperial War Museums.
