Buy a 2020 Remembrance Day Five Pound Crown Silver Proof Coin

Observed on 11 November each year to recall the end of the First World War, Remembrance Day is an opportunity to pay tribute and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. As well as the traditional annual commemorations, 2020 also marked 100 years since the the burial of the ‘Unknown Warrior’. An unidentified member of the British armed forces, buried in state at Westminster Abbey, the Unknown Warrior represents all those who gave their lives in service. The Warrior is the focus of the 2020 Remembrance Day Five Pound which features a reverse by Natasha Preece. It shows an anonymous silhouette of a soldier, head bowed, among a sea of poppies: picked out in vibrant red on the issue with the help of colour printing technology. Preece’s reverse is paired with Jody Clark’s portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, in use since 2015. This proof Crown is struck in 28.28 grams of .925 sterling silver and is offered in its original presentation packaging and capsule from The Royal Mint with a numbered certificate of authenticity. It’s from a limited edition presentation of 2,020 (chosen for the centenary year that the Unknown Warrior was buried).
