1831 King William IV Crown

Much admired by enthusiasts of historic British coins, the 1831 King William IV Crown combines notable rarity with a distinguished reverse by Jean Baptiste Merlen, now reinterpreted for the popular Great Engravers range.

Mantled Shield Design

The 1831 Crown features a crowned shield of the Royal Arms, encircled by a garter and draped in an ermine mantle. On this 2026 issue, the design is paired with the inscription 'INSIGNIA GULIELMI IV BRITANNIAE REGIS'.

Portrait Of King Charles III

On the obverse is sculptor Martin Jennings' first definitive coinage portrait of King Charles III, uncrowned and facing left. The abbreviated Latin inscription reads 'CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 1000 POUNDS · 2026 ·'.

One Kilogram Gold Proof Coin

This kilo coin is made from solid 999 (24-carat) gold and has a face value of £1,000. Struck with a proof finish, these premium collector's coins display an appealing contrast between high-shine surfaces and delicately frosted devices.

Just Five Issued Worldwide

Just five of these one-kilogram gold proof coins have been authorised for release by The Royal Mint. Each of these William IV Crowns is supplied in a bespoke wooden presentation case with a numbered plaque and a certificate.
