This collector's set from The Royal Mint includes six silver proof Britannias.
Dan Thorne's 2022 Britannia design shows the warrior goddess in half-length, holding a trident and a shield bearing a lion. The date appears below with the weight followed by '999 BRITANNIA · FINE SILVER' around.
2022 proof Britannias were the last to feature Jody Clark's fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away in September 2022. The legend reads 'ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D ·' followed by the denomination.
Since 2012, silver Britannias have been minted with a fineness of 999 rather than the 958 silver used for earlier coins. In total, this set offers 60.25 grams of pure precious metal, which is just under two troy ounces.
The Royal Mint authorised the release of no more than 1,250 of these six-coin silver proof sets. These pre-owned sets are supplied in a black presentation case, complete with a detailed information booklet and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
