Collectable two-coin 2020 silver proof 1oz Britannia set from The Royal Mint. These commemorative Britannia sets include one standard proof coin and one reverse frosted proof coin, offering different interpretations of the same design. 2020 proof Britannias feature a special one-off reverse, created by artist and ice sculptor James Tottle, depicting Britannia standing against a rippling Union Jack, waves crashing at her heels as she bravely looks into the wind, her trident and lion shield in hand. It's a distinctive design, not available on bullion coins and shown to best effect on this pair of 999 silver collectors' pieces. Just 700 of these sets were authorised for release by the Mint in 2020, and our pre-owned examples are supplied in the original box with a certificate of authenticity.

This two-coin Britannia set from The Royal Mint includes two one-ounce proof coins.
The reverse was designed by James Tottle and shows Britannia standing on a rock above the ocean, with a Union Jack motif in the background. The date (2020) is shown to the right with 'BRITANNIA 1oz 999 FINE SILVER' above.
Jody Clark's fifth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse of these coins, together with an inscription that reads 'ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 2 POUNDS ·'.
Both coins in this set are struck in one troy ounce of 999 fine silver. While ordinary proof coins featured mirrored surfaces and frosted devices, the second coin reverses this, with high-shine design details and a matt background.
The Royal Mint only authorised the release of 700 of these 2-coin Britannia sets in 2020. Our pre-owned examples are supplied in the original presentation case, complete with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
