2021 Decimal Day 50p BU in Folder

UK21DDBU 2021 Decimal Day 50th Anniversary 50p Brilliant Uncirculated Folder
from
£10.00
On 15th February 1971, history was made when UK's coinage officially shifted from a 'centuries-old money' system of Pounds, Shillings and Pence (d), to a new decimal currency where the pound was divided into 100 (new) Pence (p). Fifty years on from Decimal Day, The Royal Mint celebrated this momentous moment in the history of British money with a range of commemorative Fifty Pence pieces. The reverse of these coins evokes the designs of pre-decimal coinage, showing parts of Shillings, Farthings, Threepence and more. It’s the work of Royal Mint designer Dominique Evans. Her Decimal Day design is paired with Jody Clarks portrait of Her Majesty the Queen. This example is finished to Brilliant Uncirculated standard. ‘BU’ or ‘B. UNC’ coins come straight from the Mint and have more shine and design detail than the coins you’ll find in your change. Otherwise, this coin maintains the same specifications as a regular circulating 50p: the same metal composition, a diameter of 27.30 millimetres and a weight of 8.00 grams. Presented in its original, fold out sleeve, packed with information, this Decimal Day Fifty Pence is a great way to celebrate an important anniversary. Ships free in the UK.
