In 1904, the UK and France signed the Entente Cordiale, the Summer Olympics were held in St Louis, and the Russo-Japanese War broke out.
These 1904 UK silver Florins were minted during the reign of King Edward VII and feature an uncrowned portrait of the monarch by George William de Saulles. The reverse shows Britannia with her trident and shield, standing at the prow of a ship, a design also engraved by de Saulles.
