Buy a 1903 Florin

Key date 1903 UK silver Florin, struck during the short reign of King Edward VII with a portrait of the monarch by George William de Saulles.

These coins were minted in the year that the Wright brothers achieved the first successful powered flight and Henry Ford sold his first Model A. They feature a reverse, also by de Saulles, showing Britannia with her trident and shield and the prow of a ship, her cloak caught in the wind.

  • In 1903, the Royal Mint struck just 1,995,298 Florins, making these nearly as scarce as the 1905 Florin
  • The shallow engravings meant these currency coins wore down fast, making high-grade examples desirable
