Buy a 1819 Halfcrown

King George III silver Halfcrown, struck in the year that Queen Victoria was born. The future Queen was born on 24 May 1819, the daughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn, the fourth son of George III. Victoria inherited the throne in 1837, after her father's three older brothers died without legitimate issue. This 1819 silver coin features the small, laureate portrait of King George III on the obverse, paired with an appealing gartered shield of Royal arms design on the reverse. Records indicate that some 4,790,016 of these currency coins were issued in 1819 by the Royal Mint though surviving examples in good condition remain sought-after by collectors.
