Buy a 2019 Una And The Lion 2oz Gold Proof PF 70 (Royal Mint)

NGC graded PF 70 Ultra Cameo, this 2oz gold proof Great Engravers coin from The Royal Mint features Una and the Lion. It's from a very limited and highly sought-after edition of just 225 coins issued as part of this commemorative collection, inspired by the work of British engraver William Wyon. This £200 coin was part of the first release in the Great Engravers series and features a remastered version of Wyon's 1839 gold £5 coin. His 'Una and the Lion' design, inspired by Edmund Spencer's 'The Faerie Queene' is often regarded as one of the world's most beautiful coins. It features a mighty lion, representing England, guided by the crowned figure of Queen Victoria in the guise of Lady Una. This version was struck for collectors in 2019 in 62.42 grams of 99.99% 24-carat gold. The obverse shows Jody Clark's fifth and final portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, used on Her Majesty's coinage between 2015 and her passing in 2022. The Great Engravers collection has gone on to feature other classic designs by William Wyon including his Three Graces pattern and the later Gothic Crown, both reworked with 21st century techniques by The Royal Mint's team. A modern classic in top grade, offered sealed in its holder.
