In hand and shipping now! Saint George 2025 gold proof Sovereign from a limited edition presentation of just 2,025! This proof Sovereign is one of the lowest mintage modern Sovereigns ever issued by The Royal Mint. These coins feature Benedetto Pistrucci's classic St George and the dragon design to the reverse, echoing the design of the earliest milled Sovereigns, struck more than 200 years ago. This instantly recognisable engraving is paired with Martin Jennings' uncrowned definitive coinage head of King Charles III. Composed of 7.98 grams of 22-carat gold with a proof finish and a rose gold hue, these St George Sovereigns are significantly scarcer than 2025 Shield Sovereigns and are not available in sets. Secure this rare modern gold coin in its original packaging while stocks last.

The obverse of this coin features sculptor Martin Jennings' portrait of King Charles III, facing left and uncrowned. The legend around this reads 'CHARLES III · DEI · GRA · REX · FID · DEF ·'.
These 2025-dated Sovereigns show Benedetto Pistrucci's classic St George and the dragon design to the reverse with the year below. Other gold proof Sovereigns issued in 2025 show a historic shield design.
Like other 'full' Sovereigns, these St George-design coins are struck in 7.98 grams of 22-carat (91.67%) gold on a flan that measures 22.05 millimetres in diameter from milled edge to milled edge. The proof finish adds detail and an attractive contrast between mirrored surfaces and frosted devices.
The Royal Mint struck just 2,025 gold proof Saint George and the Dragon Sovereigns, and they are only available in this individual presentation. You will receive your 2025 St George proof Sovereign in the original presentation box, with the numbered certificate of authenticity enclosed.
