In hand and shipping now! Gold proof 2025 Half Sovereigns, available now with a one-year-only reverse from The Royal Mint. Just 1,500 of these proof Half Sovereigns have been authorised for issue in this individual presentation. These coins all feature Martin Jennings' portrait of Charles III, paired with a historic reverse inspired by the Sovereigns of George IV. Centred on a royal shield of arms with a crown above, the design is the work of 19th-century engraver Jean Baptiste Merlen and first appeared on 1825 Sovereigns. 200 years on, the motif has been remastered for use on the final rose-gold Sovereigns. After 2025, coins in the Sovereign family will be struck in a 22-carat yellow-gold alloy. The last of its kind, these Half Sovereigns should be acquired now while stocks last.
