In hand and shipping now! Limited edition three-coin 2025 gold proof Sovereign set from The Royal Mint: one of just 650 issued. This low-mintage coin set includes the 2025 'full' Sovereign, Half Sovereign and Quarter Sovereign. All three coins feature a special shield reverse, inspired by the 1825 George IV Sovereign and originally engraved by Jean Baptiste Merlen. The heraldic motif is combined with a new legend that translates to 'The Arms of George IV, King of Britain'. The obverse of each coin shows Martin Jennings' definitive coin portrait of Charles III, uncrowned and facing left. Struck in 22-carat gold with a fine, proof finish, these are some of the last UK Sovereigns with a rose-gold hue since a different alloy will be used in 2026. 2025 Gold Proof Sovereign Obverses

2025 Sovereigns use Martin Jennings' distinctive official coinage portrait of King Charles III on the obverse. Each coin in this set shows this uncrowned bust, along with an inscription that reads 'CHARLES III · DEI · GRA · REX · FID · DEF ·'.

Jean Baptiste Merlen 2025 Sovereign Reverse

The reverses of all three coins in this set feature a 2025-only design by 19th-century engraver Jean Baptiste Merlen which centres on a crowned shield of royal arms with the words 'ARMA GEORGII IV BRITANNIARUM REGIS' around. This design was first used on 1825 George IV Sovereigns.

Three-Coin Gold Sovereign Set Specifications

Gold three-Sovereign sets offer 12.82 grams of pure gold across the individual coins included. These pieces are struck in 22-carat gold with a fine, proof finish and a distinctive rose-gold hue.

Limited Edition 2025 Proof Sovereign Set
