Obverse Portrait Of King Charles III
The obverse of 2025 gold bullion Sovereigns features Martin Jennings' definitive coinage portrait of Charles III, which shows the King uncrowned and facing left. The inscription reads 'CHARLES III ∙ DEI ∙ GRA ∙ REX ∙ FID ∙ DEF ∙' and the artist's initials are shown below the bust.
Classic Saint George Reverse Design
Benedetto Pistrucci's classic Saint George and the dragon design features on the reverse of these 2025 coins. Originally seen on the 1817 Sovereign, this engraving has been a perennial presence on these iconic gold coins down the centuries.
2025 Coin Struck In 22-Carat Gold
These bullion coins are struck to a historic specification in 7.98 grams of 22-carat (91.67% pure) gold. That equates to an actual gold content of 7.31 grams or 0.2354 troy ounces. This edition boasts The Royal Mint's bullion standard finish.
The Last Rose-Gold Sovereign
2025 is the final year that gold Sovereigns will be minted with a red hue, sometimes called rose gold. 2026 will see the return of the yellow-gold colour that typifies historic gold Sovereigns.
VAT And Capital Gains Tax Exempt
