Gold 2024 Sovereign struck on 6 June to mark eighty years since D-Day. This premium Royal Mint coin features a special D-Day 80th anniversary mintmark to honour those who participated in the Normandy Landings in 1944. The Allied landing in northern France was the largest seaborne invasion in history and laid the foundations for victory on the Western Front. The privy mark consists of a World War Two helmet above the number 80, and can be found to the left of the date on the reverse of this coin, below the image of St George and the dragon. The obverse shows Martin Jennings' portrait of King Charles III. These 22-carat gold collectors coins boast a matt finish and are from a highly limited issue of just 1,000.
