Buy a 2020 Royal Mint £5 Gold Proof £5 PF 70 Ultra Cameo

NGC-graded 2020 Tower of London Royal Mint Five Pound coin, with a top grade of PF 70 Ultra Cameo. The Royal Mint and Historic Royal Palaces teamed up in 2020 to issue a set of commemorative £5 coins depicting the former royal residence, the Tower of London. The reverse of this this gold proof edition shows the same outline of a Norman arched window present in the other coins in the series, but with a hammered penny in front of it, signifying the first coins struck at the Royal Mint's Tower of London site. Between 1279 during the reign of King Edward I and 1812 under King George III's rule, the Royal Mint was headquartered inside the Tower of London. For 533 years, the Mint struck the nation's coinage by hand at the Tower, and only moved out due to a lack of space in the early 19th century. The outer text reads 'TOWER OF LONDON', with the text on the hammered penny reading 'LONDON CIVITAS'. On the obverse, the fifth definitive UK coin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II can be seen. It was designed by the Royal Mint engraver, Jody Clark. The specifications of this collectable proof Crown are a weight of 39.94 grams, a diameter of 38.61 millimetres and an alloy composed of 22 carat gold. It's presented sealed in its Numismatic Guaranty Company protective holder, its pristine proof finish carefully preserved. NGC Cert. #: 6674053-008.
