These coins feature Benedetto Pistrucci's classic Saint George and the dragon design to the reverse, created in 1817 for the first modern gold Sovereigns. This is paired with an instantly—recognisable portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. Created by Ian Rank-Broadley, this effigy can be seen on UK commemorative and collectable coins issued between 1998 and 2015.
