The obverse of the 2026 silver Sovereign features Martin Jennings' uncrowned coinage portrait of King Charles III, encircled by an abbreviated Latin legend that reads 'CHARLES III · DEI · GRA · REX · FID · DEF ·'.
The reverse displays Benedetto Pistrucci's celebrated depiction of Saint George on horseback slaying a winged dragon, complete with the artist's signature initials and the year date (2026) below the ground line. This design is steeped in two centuries of numismatic history.
Each of these commemorative coins is struck in 7.98 grams of solid 999 fine silver, rather than the traditional 22-carat gold, and finished to proof standard with a flawless mirrored background and frosted detail. This combination accentuates every line of Pistrucci's classic engraving.
