All five coins feature Martin Jennings' official coinage effigy of King Charles III. The portrait, showing the King facing left and uncrowned, is surrounded by the Latin legend 'CHARLES III · DEI · GRA · REX · FID · DEF ·'.
The reverse of each coin displays Benedetto Pistrucci's legendary engraving of Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon, a design that has symbolised the Sovereign series since 1817. The date appears below the ground line.
