2024 marked the Royal National Lifeboat Institution's 200th year of life-saving service. From flood rescue to those lost at sea, the RNLI is a lifeboat service with a long history of coming to the aid of those in deep water. This Royal Mint Fifty Pence coin, designed by John Bergdahl, features a richly coloured life buoy encircling a crowned anchor RNLI flag. On the obverse of this sterling silver coin sits the effigy of Charles III, designed by Martin Jennings. The special edition on offer here is struck to proof quality and only 4,000 were presented in the water-effect acrylic block and box. This is a pre-owned RNLI 50 Pence - struck to coloured silver proof quality - and is an ideal way to commemorate the institute whose work is close to the hearts of many.

2024 RNLI 50p Obverse

Martin Jennings designed the obverse of this UK 50p coin and is credited with crafting the first circulating effigy of Charles III for UK coinage. The legend reads 'CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 50 PENCE · 2024'.

Reverse: 200 Years Of The RNLI

John Bergdahl's reverse design for the RNLI 200 Years 50p shows the RNLI flag protected by an RNLI life buoy, here brightly coloured. The buoy reads '200 YEARS 1824 2024', in recognition of the proud anniversary.

Struck In Silver With Colour

This coloured RNLI 50 Pence is a UK legal tender coin struck to proof quality. It is composed of 8.00 grams of sterling silver and measures 27.30 millimetres in diameter.
