2017 Prince Philip Life of Service £5 Crown Silver Proof

2017 Prince Philip Life of Service £5 Silver Proof Boxed
from
£65.00
This Five Pound coin was struck by The Royal Mint when Prince Philip retired from royal duties in 2017 at the age of 96. As the longest serving royal consort in British history he had reportedly completed more than 22,000 royal engagements and acted as the president or patron of over 800 charities. His life of service is celebrated with this silver proof collectors piece, struck in 28.28 grams of .925 silver. It features a portrait of the Duke of Edinburgh, designed by Humphrey Paget in 1970. This is paired with the current official effigy of Her Majesty the Queen by Jody Clark. This proof coin is from a limited edition presentation of 3,000 and comes in its original packaging from The Royal Mint with an information booklet and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
