Those born in the monkey's year (including 1968, 1980, 1992 and 2004) are said to be clever, sociable, witty and mischievous. Adorning the foliage-filled reverse of this 5oz coin, designed by London artist Wuon-Gean Ho, is a cheeky pair of 'Old World' Rhesus monkeys.

The reverse was designed by Wuon-Gean Ho and shows a pair of Rhesus monkeys in the treetops. The symbol '猴' - meaning monkey - is inscribed to the right with a legend reading 'YEAR OF THE MONKEY 2016' to the left.
Year of the Monkey Lunar coins were the first in the series to feature Jody Clark's fifth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, plus a legend that reads 'ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 10 POUNDS ·'.
Five-ounce coins are struck in 156.30 grams of 999 fine silver and have a face value of Ten Pounds. These 2016 coins are struck with a premium proof finish, which is achieved with multiple strikes of hand-finished dies.
This 5oz silver coin was part of the third release in the Shēngxiào collection. While a maximum of 588 of these Lunar coins were authorised for issue, records indicate that just 303 were actually sold in this presentation.
This pre-owned coin is supplied in the original lucky red packaging from The Royal Mint, including the outer box, leather display case, numbered certificate of authenticity and information booklet.
