Piedfort sterling silver proof 2014 Queen Anne Five Pound coin in its original box with certificate of authenticity. A member of the House of Stuart, Anne was queen of England, Scotland and Ireland between 1702 and 1707. Under the 1707 Acts of Union she became monarch of Great Britain, ruling until her passing in 1714. The 300th anniversary of her death is commemorated with this collectable coin from The Royal Mint. There’s a queen on either side of this Five Pound piece: the obverse shows Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Elizabeth II, seen on British money struck between 1998 and 2015. It’s the fourth such effigy of Her Majesty used on her coins. The reverse features a design by Mark Richards which shows a left-facing portrait of Queen Anne in a decorative frame with the shield of arms of the United Kingdom of Great Britain below. The legend includes her date of birth and death. This extra-heavy piedfort coin is struck in 56.56 grams of .925 sterling silver. It’s finished to The Royal Mint’s proof standard, offering an appearance far superior to comparable circulating or brilliant uncirculated coins, achieved with multiple strikes of hand-prepared dies. This is one of just 636 coins of this type issued in 2014. It comes in its original presentation packaging with an information booklet and a numbered certificate of authenticity. A highly collectable piece, celebrating the reign of a great British Queen.
