Buy a 2009 Britannia 1oz Silver (Carded)

Silver bullion 1oz 2009 Britannia from The Royal Mint, supplied in the original packaging. 2009 Britannias feature one of the most popular designs used in the silver series, which dates back to 1998. Philip Nathan's motif shows Britannia in the guise of ancient British Queen Boudica, driving a war chariot pulled by two rearing horses. This design was previously used ten years earlier on 1999 Britannias. Nathan's reverse is paired with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. 2009 Britannias are struck in .958 Britannia silver and are a little larger and heavier than later issues. This bullion edition is supplied sealed in a presentation card, inside a printed box that protects the uncirculated finish of the coin, making it an ideal gift for a dedicated collector of British coins.

Charioteer Britannia Reverse

2009 Britannias feature a reverse previously used in 1999, created by Philip Nathan and showing Britannia driving a chariot pulled by two horses. 'BRITANNIA' is shown below with 'ONE · OUNCE · FINE · SILVER · 2009' above.

Elizabeth II Portrait Obverse

Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth definitive coin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is shown on the obverse, with the face value - '2 · POUNDS' - below and an inscription that reads '· ELIZABETH · II · D · G REG · FID · DEF ·' around.

Struck In 958 Britannia Silver

These UK Two Pound coins are struck in one troy ounce of .958 Britannia silver, rather than the 999 silver used for later issues, meaning they are somewhat heavier. This is a bullion strike with a uniform high-shine appearance.

Collectable Bullion Coin

Records indicate that the maximum mintage set for silver bullion Britannias in 2009 by The Royal Mint was 100,000 coins. It is likely that somewhat fewer were issued, and we can confirm that few can be found in this presentation.

Supplied In Royal Mint Box

You will receive this pre-owned one-ounce coin in its original Royal Mint packaging, which includes a gift box and a card with a built-in capsule that protects the coin's bullion finish and facilitates long-term safe storage.
