Buy a 1994 Bank Of England £2 Piedfort Silver Proof

This extra-heavy piedfort silver proof Two Pound coin celebrates 300 years since the Bank of England was established in 1694. The obverse shows the definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf. The reverse of this coin - designed by Leslie Durbin - reflects the period in which the Bank of England was established. At the centre of the design, Britannia looks onto a ‘bank of money’. This mirrors her appearance on the Bank’s original corporate seal, complete with the crown and cypher of King William III and Queen Mary II above. The script used for ‘Bank of England’ is a familiar banknote script, and the edge inscription reads ‘SIC VOS NON VOBIS’ - the motto of William Paterson, one of the Bank of England’s founders. This piedfort coin is struck in a double weight 31.96 grams of .925 sterling silver. The example you will receive is one of 9,569 coins struck and is offered in its original case with a certificate of authenticity.
