Buy a 1892 Threepence

Historic silver Threepence coin, minted in 1892, late in the long reign of Queen Victoria, with the classic Jubilee Head portrait.

This effigy is the work of sculptor Joseph Edgar Boehm RA and was used on 3d coins issued between 1887 and 1893. It's paired here with the instantly recognisable wreath-and-numeral reverse, originally engraved by Jean Baptiste Merlen, also used on Maundy Money.

  • Part of a lower annual mintage of 2,578,226 - rated Scarce by Bull in his guide to silver coinage
  • Struck for circulation in .925 sterling silver at the Royal Mint, then based in London
