1980 Annual Set Proof Base Metal Boxed

Buy a 1980 UK Proof Annual 6 Coin Set

Is 1980 a special year for you? It saw the launch of the Rubik’s Cube and the publication of poet Benjamin Zephaniah’s first collection. Remember the date with a six coin Royal Mint 1980 annual proof set in its original presentation packaging. These collectible sets include definitive editions of the UK coinage that was put into circulation in this year, minted to impeccable proof standard. Proof coins are struck multiple times with hand finished dies for a superior finish that shows more detail than the coins you find in your change. This set includes a Fifty Pence piece, a Ten Pence piece, a Five Pence piece, a Two Pence piece, a One Pence piece and a Halfpenny. These coins are all dated 1980 and feature Arnold Machin’s portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to the obverse. Each of the six coins are composed of the same base metal copper-nickel alloy. The set is presented in a protective clear sleeve which allows you to view both sides of the coins in this collection. This is enclosed within an attractive purple card envelope with embossed gold lettering, original to the set. You might find that some of the coins in this set show evidence of toning. This is typical of these collectors pieces, several decades after they were first issued.
