Was 1975 a special year for you? A lot happened including the foundation of the European Space Agency and the broadcast of the first Fawlty Towers episode. This UK annual set for the year 1975 is a great way to commemorate the date. This collectible Royal Mint set contains six decimal coins: a Fifty Pence piece, a Ten Pence piece, an old large Five Pence piece, a Two Pence piece, a One Pence piece and a Halfpenny. They all feature Arnold Machin’s portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the second official effigy used on her decimal coinage between 1968 and 1984. Each of the six coins are composed of the same base metal copper-nickel alloy used for contemporary circulating coinage. The difference is that these pieces are struck to finest proof standard. You’ll receive your 1975 annual set in its original vibrant green card envelope with gold embossed lettering, as issued by The Royal Mint. The coins are enclosed within a protective clear plastic sleeve which means you can view both sides of each piece without unnecessary handling. You might find that some of the coinage in this set display evidence of toning. This is typical of these older collectors sets, several decades after they were issued.
