Joseph Edgar Boehm designed the so-called Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria that appears on the obverse of this 1892 Halfcrown. She is shown wearing the Small Diamond Crown and a lace veil, encircled by the inscription: 'VICTORIA DEI GRATIA'.
These coins are struck in .925 grams of sterling silver, weigh approximately 14.14 grams and measure 32.3 millimetres in diameter. They are minted with a milled edge at Royal Mint Court, near the Tower of London.
Records show that the Royal Mint struck a total of 1,710,946 silver Halfcrowns in 1892. These coins were the final issue to be struck with the Jubilee Head portrait before the Widowed Head effigy was introduced in 1893.
