1887 Florin Jubilee Head Victoria Silver Coin

1887 silver Florin, minted in Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee year and featuring a newly introduced portrait by Joseph Edgar Boehm.

The so-called Jubilee Head was the first wholesale update to the image of Victoria on her coinage since her Coronation. Boehm's effigy shows the Queen wearing the Small Diamond Crown and a long lace veil in a nod to her state of mourning, following the death of Prince Albert.
