Buy a 1887 Victoria Silver Crown 1+A Jubilee Head MS 62

A collectable silver Crown of Queen Victoria, dated 1887. The obverse features the crowned and veiled bust of the queen, known as the Jubilee Head as its introduction coincided with her Golden Jubilee. In it she wears pearl earrings, necklaces and a two orders. The initials ‘J.E.B.’ appear at her shoulder, identifying the artist as Joseph Edgar Boehm. This new portrait has been years in the making but prooved unpopular and was regarded as undignified. As such it did not remain in use for long. The reverse shows the instantly recognisable image of a sword-wielding Saint George in the act of slaying a dragon which is trampled beneath his horses’ hooves. The initials ‘B.P.’ for Benedetto Pistrucci appear below the ground, to the right. Spink 3921, Davies 480.
