1746 Sixpence LIMA George II Silver Coin

1746 silver Sixpences from the reign of King George II, struck as propaganda with the word 'LIMA' displayed below the bust.

So-called LIMA Coins were struck with silver captured from the Spanish that was, reportedly, mined in Peru, hence the name. The metal was presented to the Royal Mint and used to make some sought-after British gold and silver coins, issued in 1745 and 1746.
