1720 George I Shilling

1720 George I Silver Shilling Obverse

* Images are of the actual product not stock images

A collectable silver Shilling of King George the First, dated 1720. The obverse features the first laureate, draped bust of George I, facing right: his hair tie showing loose ends. The reverse shows crowned cruciform shields of arms with the angles between plain. This coin was struck in the year when the notorious South Sea Bubble popped, ruining thousands of investors and dragging George home from his native Hanover to deal with the ensuing financial crisis.
