Buy a 1897 Victoria Diamond Jubilee Official Bronze Medal

Large bronze medal issued for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897, sixty years after her ascension in 1837. The obverse features the veiled ‘Old Head’ effigy of Victoria, commissioned and produced in 1893 by Thomas Brock (his initials appear on the truncation of her neck). This is paired with the first coinage portrait of Victoria, the ‘Young Head’ which is the work of William Wyon and was first used in 1838. Variations on this design were issued as ribboned commemorative medals though this type has no hanging fixtures and is significantly larger. This medal is presented in its original red leather and velvet case.
