Bronze medal commemorating the marriage of the future Leopold II of Belgium, then Duke of Brabant and heir apparent, to Marie Henriette of Austria in August 1853. The obverse features a portrait of the then King of the Belgians, Leopold I. The reverse holds a double portrait of the new Duke and Duchess. The design is the work of sculptor and medallist Léopold Wiener who received the Cross of the Order of Léopold for this medal. The same engravings also appeared on a medallic gold 100 Franc piece, also issued in 1853.

Conjoined busts of the future Leopold II and Marie Henriette of Austria, later Queen of the Belgians, both facing right. The inscription reads 'L.L.PH.M.V. DUC DE BRABANT M.H.A. DUCHESSE DE BRABANT' with the date below: '21 22 AOUT'.
