A collectable Scottish hammered silver Groat of King Robert the Third from the heavy coinage period of 1390 to 1403 struck at the Edinburgh mint in Scotland. The obverse features the facing bust of the king within a treasure, and the reverse showing long cross with three pellets in the quarters and then Villa Edinburgh in the next circle. Robert III was the eldest son of Robert II and was called John, Earl of Carrick, he changed his name on succeeding the throne to Robert and he was totally disabled through his reign and the throne was lead by his younger brother who was called Robert !
