Rare 2015 gold proof Sovereign, graded by NGC and featuring an unusual die error causing the obverse to be struck without frosting.

This error occurred when the gold proof reverse design, featuring Saint George and the dragon, was mistakenly paired with an unfrosted or unfinished brilliant uncirculated obverse die, instead of the intended frosted proof design (Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II).
