1841 Mohur Type A/I Small Date Gold British India Coin NGC AU Details

Victoria 1841 gold Mohur from British India: type A/1, NGC graded (KM 462.3, S&W 3.7, Pridmore 22, Friedberg 1595a).

Though dated 1841, this East India Company gold coin was introduced in 1851 and struck at the Calcutta Mint for years afterwards with a frozen date. The obverse of the Type II Mohur features a Young Head-style portrait of Queen Victoria by William Wyon with a divided legend.

• Reverse features the classic lion and palm tree design with 'يک اثرفى' below
• Incuse 'W.W.' initials to truncation with smaller date below with plain 4
