Post-2013 one tenth ounce gold Royal Mint Britannias: available now. Gold Britannias minted in 2013 and after are made of 24 carat gold. They contain the same amount of precious metal as earlier bullion coins but the removal of the base metal makes them lighter overall. These tenth oz gold Britannias are composed of 3.13 grams of .9999 gold and measure just 16.50 millimetres across. These bullion Britannias show a portrait of Her Majesty the Queen to the obverse and Philip Nathan’s classic ‘standing Britannia’ to the reverse. Britannia is the female personification of the British Isles and has appeared on coinage since Roman times. She’s a powerful symbol of national identity, a perennial figure on British money. Our best value gold tenth Britannias are carefully authenticated by our specialist staff. They’re guaranteed to contain exactly 0.1 troy oz of pure gold though they may show marks of wear, typical of bullion coins. We’ll supply our choice of year from our available stock. If you order multiple 1/10 oz gold Britannias you may receive a range of dates. VAT and Capital Gains Tax exempt, offered with free, insured UK shipping.

Post-2013 Britannias

Introduced in 1987, gold Britannias have been a staple of the global bullion market for decades now. Their reverse design has changed over the years but always features Britannia, the female personification of the United Kingdom.

Before 2013, gold Britannias were made from 22 carat gold (.916 purity). Britannias issued from 2013 onwards are composed of .9999 (24 carat) gold.

New Britannia are slightly lighter overall but ultimately contain the same amount of precious gold as their pre-2013 predecessors. They're lighter because the base metal has been removed.

Tenth Ounce Gold Coin

1/10 oz gold Britannias have a nominal face value of Ten Pounds which appears on the obverse along with a portrait of Her Majesty the Queen.

Their composition - one tenth of an ounce of 999.9 fine gold - is listed on the reverse along with an image of Britannia which, since 2013 has been Philip Nathan's 'standing Britannia'. While the design changes annually on proof coins it has remained the same on these small bullion coins for some years now.

Post-2013 Britannias have a total weight of 3.13 grams and a diameter of 16.50 millimeters.
