Commissioned in the aftermath of the 1815 Battle of Waterloo, this monumental medal took Benedetto Pistrucci decades to complete and was never struck in his lifetime. The original dies show a detailed, symbolic design that alludes to the Napoleonic Wars and lionises the allied leaders and generals.
