Limited edition 2020 Perth Mint gold Sovereign with a special 165 privy mark. This 22-carat gold coin was struck to mark the 165 years since the first Australian Sovereigns, which were struck in 1855. These rare and sought-after historic coins were minted in Sydney in the wake of the Australian gold rush and featured a unique wreath design created by Leonard Charles Wyon with the word 'AUSTRALIA' in the centre. This classic coinage design is replicated on modern Sovereigns from The Perth Mint. These 7.988 gram coins are denominated at 25 Australian Dollars and boast a proof finish. 2020 Perth Sovereigns feature a special mintmark on the reverse in celebration of the important numismatic anniversary. This pre-owned collector's coin comes in its original magnetic presentation case with a numbered certificate included, confirming that this is one of just 900 coins of its kind issued in 2020.

The words 'PERTH MINT' appear above and 'SOVEREIGN' below. This 2020 edition features a special '165' mintmark to the centre of the design.

Perth Mint Sovereigns are similar in size to British Sovereigns, measuring 22.55 millimetres in diameter and have the same 22-carat gold composition and weight of 7.98 grams. These coins are denominated at $25 and boast a proof finish.
