2015 Lunar Year Of The Sheep Tenth Ounce Gold Brilliant Uncirculated Coin

UKH15GT 2015 Lunar Year Of The Sheep Tenth Ounce Gold Brilliant Uncirculated Coin Boxed
(VAT Exempt)
The Royal Mint continued with its Shēngxiào coin series in 2015 with the Year of the Sheep range. Informally known as The Royal Mint's lunar collection, the sheep (or goat) is the eighth animal in the Chinese zodiac. This edition is the gold tenth ounce coin, struck twice during production to give a brilliant uncirculated finish. Those born in the Year of the Sheep are believed to be brimming with a strong sense of justice and kindheartedness, with gentle, amicable and shy characteristics. As with most other Royal Mint lunar coins, Sino-Chinese artist Wuon-Gean Ho took inspiration form the horned Yorkshire Swaledale sheep for the reverse design, which show a pair of them facing each other, symbolising friendship and family. On the coin's obverse, Ian Rank Broadley's engraving of Queen Elizabeth II is visible. Your 1/10oz coin will weigh a total of 3.13 grams and measure 16.50 millimetres in diameter. 24 carat gold is the alloy used, which in millesimal fineness is expressed as 0.9999. Only 922 of these coins were ever produced by The Royal Mint, making them a must-have for lunar coin collectors. As standard, the coin is issued in the original limited edition presentation box, with the added bonus of free UK delivery with The Britannia Coin Company.
