Carded 2012 gold 'full' Sovereign from The Royal Mint. This collectable UK investment coin features the one-year-only Diamond Jubilee design on the reverse, created to celebrate 60 years since Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne. The engraving, created by Paul Day, is a reinterpretation of Benedetto Pistrucci's classic Saint George and the dragon design, created for the first modern Sovereigns. Day's St George is dressed like a crusader and pushes his lance down from his position on horseback towards the snarling mouth of a winged dragon, which curls around the surface of the coin. This popular design is paired with Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This 22-carat gold bullion coin comes in the original Royal Mint pull-out sleeve, the Sovereign protected by a built-in capsule.
