A collectable gold half sovereign of King George the Fifth, dated 1915. The obverse features the bare-headed, left-facing portrait of George V, engraved by Australian sculptor, Bertram MacKennal. The reverse shows Benedetto Pistrucci’s famous Saint George design, wherein the mounted saint delivers the killing blow to a wounded dragon. The lack of mint mark indicates that this coin was struck at The Royal Mint in London, rather than at one of the colonial branch mints. An excellent addition to any collection and a great investment
