Paul Kruger Portrait Reverse

The obverse of the 1897 Pond features a portrait of South African politician Paul Kruger by Otto Schultz, with an inscription that reads 'ZUID AFRIKAANSCHE REPUBLIEK'. This effigy was later used on the Krugerrand.

South African Republic Arms
