Final year William IV Sovereign with crowned and garnished shield of arms reverse, graded AU 58 by NGC.

This Sovereign features a right-facing portrait of King William IV by William Wyon. William had no legitimate children, so when he too died in June 1837, the throne passed to his niece, who would reign as Queen Victoria. Her first circulating Sovereigns were issued the following year.
