Collectable Royal Arms 2008 UK One Pound - the last time this classic British coin design was used on circulating coins.

In 2008, two different One Pound coin designs were released into circulation, both inspired by the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom. This elaborate design by Eric Sewell saw its final use in this year, replaced by the simpler shield design by Matthew Dent.
