1995 UN Nations United For Peace Circulated Two Pound Coin

1995 UN Nations United For Peace Circulated Two Pound Coin Reverse
from
£10.00
Old-style UK 1995 United Nations commemorative £2 coin available now with free UK postage. Nickel-brass Two Pound coins like this one were created for coin collectors with one-off designs to celebrate important national occasions. They’re still legal tender but since the new bi-metallic Two Pounds were released into circulation, old coins like this special 1995 commemorative have become hard to find. It was released to mark fifty years since the formation of the United Nations. The UN was established in the aftermath of the Second World War, when representatives from fifty countries came together and committed to security, social progress and peace. The Royal Mint commemorated a half-century of the global peacekeeping organisation with a new coin, designed by renowned sculptor Michael Rizzello. It features the United Nations’ distinctive emblem and the number 50, surrounded by a cluster of flags. The heads side shows Raphael Maklouf’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. You can see this refined image of Her Majesty on money issued by Britain’s Royal Mint between 1985 and 1997. Just 1,668,575 1995 United Nations £2 coins were produced by The Royal Mint and ours are guaranteed to be in top-notch condition, ready to add to your collection.
